Root, Root, Root for the Home Team!
When the Rangers played the Kings for the Stanley Cup, I told my friends whichever team won would determine my fate for the fall. Los Angeles won, and here I am! Sports are a wonderful way to feel the vibe of a city.
Sense of Community
Die hard sports fans love their team, and their city! The Kings game was full of excitement, with the crowd rooting for the reigning champions. As an outsider, I figured wearing a Rangers shirt wouldn’t be my best bet for blending in… However, when it was time for the USC homecoming football game, you better believe I was decked out in all maroon and gold. Since L.A. doesn’t have a football team, college sports are their thing! This was a thing I was happy to be a part of. When you embrace the sense of community that goes along with the event, it isn’t hard to make new friends.
Whether your team is playing or not, a sporting event is exciting. Enthusiasm is in the air, and it is contagious! Sports allow us to forget about whatever has been going on that day, and just focus on what is going on in front of you. They players are putting their heart into the game, and we are there to cheer them on!
Need I say more? Grab a 6 pack and get ready to party!
Last time I was in Los Angeles, I was able to catch a Lakers vs. Clippers game— double whammy on the L.A. spirit! Now, I’m in San Francisco, and the Giants are in contention to win the World Series. Whether you watch baseball or not doesn’t matter. San Franciscan pride is flooding this city, and I am so happy to be a part of it!
